Who do you trust with your dream? 

It is certainly important for you to find out whether I am the right partner at your side to make your dream a reality.

Perhaps you are wondering who the person behind Real Time Realty is. What brought a German woman to Andalusia? Where did she get the experience and knowledge to really help me?

I am happy to tell you all this so that you can get to know me a little before you arrive in Spain.

I fell in love with Spain as a child, because the happiest time of the year for me was always the Easter holidays in the coastal town of L'Escala in Catalonia. I learnt to walk on a campsite there as a baby, so I made my "first steps" in Spain. (I'm the girl on the left in the picture.)

Years later, I had the opportunity to spend a year abroad at the University of Seville in 1990/91 as part of my university degree in Mathematics and Business Administration.   It was one of the best decisions of my life. It was a wonderful year in which I fell in love with Andalusia, its way of life and the warmth of its people.  So much so that from then on, I was certain that I wanted to live in Andalusia after finishing my studies.

 In August 1994, the time had come.  I packed my motorbike (Suzuki VS 800 Intruder) with bags full of business clothes and 100 job applications.

I rode alone from Münster to Marbella with only DM 7,000, firmly convinced that I would find a job in the property sector, as I had a job in the financial services sector to finance my studies, where I could gain experience with closed-end property funds. I found that very exciting. After 14 days of very active searching, I knew the streets of Marbella inside out and got my first job as an executive secretary in a property company that handled all sales transactions itself, including legal checks and notary appointments. Fortunately for me, I learnt the trade "from the bottom up".

In 1998, I started my own business as a property agent. At the same time, I worked on my first personal urban development project: the development of a finca hotel in the Andalusian village of Casarabonela.

Since 1996, I was already a very active student at the business school in Málaga (then IPE - Instituto de Práctica Empresarial, now REBS - Real Estate Business School). Due to problems that arose with a hotel project, I also completed a specialisation course in urban planning and development of new construction projects in 2001-2002.

As continuous further training is extremely important to me, when Covid 2020 reduced our work due to a lack of client visits, I used the year to go back to school after countless courses and seminars. In the MBA Inmobiliario, I completed a master's degree that covered all areas of our activity, including construction and promotion of new developments, cooperatives, urban planning law, marketing, finance, contracts, etc.

Over the years I was able to put my knowledge into practice when I planned and co-developed 120 flats in Riviera del Sol (Mijas Costa) for German investors.

I also supervised the construction and sale of 2 new apartment buildings in La Cala de Mijas and most recently a new construction project of 18 luxury villas above Marbella, in El Real de la Quinta, which I helped to organise and launch after the sale of the land.

The combination of theory and practice has given me the opportunity to provide my clients with personalised, holistic and sustainable advice that is hard to find on the Costa del Sol.

From the very beginning, my aim was to learn everything I could to offer my clients the best possible support so that they can be happy and satisfied in the long term after buying a property. I couldn't cope at all if I knew that my clients would be disappointed, annoyed and frustrated after the purchase. That's why I see it as my job to be a trustworthy and reliable partner with my in-depth expertise, but also with my local knowledge.

Even after 30 years, it fills me with great joy when I can look into the happy eyes of my clients, even years later, because they can live their dream in Marbella, just as they wished.

A lot has also changed in my private life over the past 29 years.  In 1996, I gave birth to my daughter Chantal here in Marbella, who sees herself more as a "Malagueña" than a German.  She grew up speaking three languages, which naturally fills her mother with joy and pride. Children growing up on the Costa del Sol benefit from a multicultural, tolerant and generally very stimulating environment. As a working, single mum for many years, I also put a lot of thought into choosing the right school for Chantal, and therefore the entire Spanish school system, and I am very happy with the result.  My daughter attended the schools "Colegio Las Chapas" in Marbella and "Colegio Sierra Blanca" in Málaga.

I am now the proud grandmother of my super cute grandson Héctor, who was born to Chantal in 2023. He is very bright and the greatest joy of the whole family. Of course, he is also being introduced to all the languages... I can hardly imagine an area of life in Spain that I couldn't provide information about or at least name a suitable contact person for.  Ultimately, our customers also benefit from this active relocation.

Since May 2022, I have been using my free time as a member of the Rotary Club Mijas International to fulfil a dream I had when I was 17. I wanted to help people in need and set up my own development aid projects. As Chair of the Local Service Committee, I am responsible for learning about the needs of the people in Mijas and working out ways in which we can help as a club.

In 2023/24, I am serving as the club secretary. I am very much looking forward to continuing to do a lot of good both locally and internationally as President-elect in 2024/25.
